Hi loves! It’s been a while since my last travel post, so I’m super excited to share this one with you. I’m a traveler in spirit. There’s so much beauty to see in this world and I love that carefree feeling I get when I travel. With work and whatnot, I don’t have the luxury of traveling as much as I’d like to, so when I do get to, it’s such a treat even if it’s a quick weekend getaway.
Last weekend, a group of girlfriends and I went up to Vernon, British Columbia to celebrate a bachelorette weekend for one of our friends. If you’re not familiar with B.C., it’s about a five hour drive from Vancouver. I grew up here, so I never really traveled much within B.C. I guess it never really felt like traveling if I were staying within the same province, you know? So, it was my first time in Vernon/Lake Country and let’s just say, it won’t be my last. The more of my province I see, the more I understand why we call it the ‘Beautiful British Columbia’!! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves! 🙂
We stayed at this beautiful resort called Sparking Hill Resort in Vernon. It has Swarovski crystals built into their architecture and the view from the resort is to die for! They’re really well-known for their spa. I personally didn’t get a treatment but they have a number of different steam rooms (rose was my fave!!!) that you can enjoy at their facilities, oh and can’t forget the infinity pool which overlooks Lake Okanagan!
Full disclosure though, it is tucked away and quite couple-y. If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend or a romantic get-away, it’s perfect. But if you’re looking for something more on the wilder side, may not be the choice for you, ALTHOUGH we DID manage to turn this into quite the weekend, if you know what I mean. 😉 The deets shall remain a secret but let’s say some of us walked away with bruises and wondering wth had happened… haha.
We spent our second day wine-tasting in the Lake Country. Again, if you’re not familiar with B.C., I guess it’s our version of Napa Valley. It’s about a 20 minute drive from Vernon. We went to four different wineries:
I loved every one of them! Each winery was stunning and the wine…well I mean…wine!! We rescued lots of wine that day, they were all trapped in bottles! We did a wine/food pairing at Ex Nihilo. Unfortunately we were short on time so we had to rush through the experience, but it was excellent and I highly recommend it.
I thoroughly enjoyed my princess moments at the wineries in my Lovers + Friends Leah dress. Of course, I paired it with my Cult Gaia arc bag. It’s my fave bag of the season and I just think it adds summer chic-ness to any outfit!
And my babe of a friend is wearing a Boohoo dress here, which just happens to be called ‘Mina’ 🙂
All in all, it was such a great weekend with an even better group of ladies. I’m so thankful to have been a part of such a special weekend <3 I’m still thinking about the weekend and dreaming of my next weekend get-away, whenever/wherever that may be… Any recommendations?
