Hi loves! I know it’s officially fall now, and I said Wear Now / Wear Later would be a four part series until fall hits but…surpriseeee!!! I just couldn’t resist doing another one. It’s gotten quite chilly in Vancouver, but I hear some of you are experiencing that Indian summer, so…you’re welcome! 😉
And honestly, let’s be real, Wear Now / Wear Later would not be complete without featuring a duster coat. I first fell in love with duster coats when I saw a pic of Gigi Hadid rocking it with a pair of sweatpants. If it can make sweatpants look super trendy…I mean, what more can I say? But then again, if you’re Gigi Hadid, you make anything look good, but that’s besides the point!
Anyways, since then, I’ve been seeing dusters everywhere! I absolutely love dusters. What I love the most about them is that they are soooo easy! You can throw them over any outfit (including sweats) and you’re pretty much guaranteed to look chic!
My featured duster is by 4S1ENNA (similar here and here). The silky fabric makes this duster extra luxe and I love that it’s super light, which is perfect for layering. Added bonus, the side slits!! Thanks to the side slits, this duster moves so well.
For the Now Look, I paired my duster with a mini slip dress and a leather skirt. Yep, you read right, a dress AND a skirt. I couldn’t decide between the two, sue me. Haha, jokes, but it was deliberate! The slip dress alone underneath the duster would have been pretty but I wanted to add a little more edge to the look, so I added the leather skirt. By layering the skirt on top, it breaks up the dress and gives it a completely different feel. I also love how the dress peeks out below the skirt, making it almost look like a semi-ruffled hem. I completed my look with a pair of teal pumps, which paired really well with the grey duster and added a pop of colour. What do you think?!

- Vivienne Dress – Aritzia
- Skirt – BLANKNYC
- Shoes – Rebecca Minkoff (old but similar here and here)
- Bag – Zara
The Later Look pairs the duster with grey wide-legs and a turtleneck for a cozier look. Without the duster, the outfit is fairly simple. A perfect example of how dusters really elevate your look. I tied a little big bow around the turtleneck instead of a necklace (I told you I was obsessed with bows) and finished off the look with a pair of pearl-y bon-bon earrings.
